Princess Diana died on 31st August 1997 in a tragic car accident. It was sudden death which made people sad all over the world.
After two decades of Princess Diana’s death, her children Prince Williams and Prince Harry publicly going to share memories of their mother with them in the documentary name: “Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy.” They shared with CBS News correspondent that for the whole world she was the most photographed women in the world but at home, she was a devoted mother.
Prince Harry shared that: “She was one of the naughtiest parents.” He added that: “She would come and watch us play football and, you know, smuggle sweets into our socks.”
They still remember how their mother used to dress up them in silly costumes and loved to take family snaps. Prince William said that: “We felt, you know, incredibly loved, Harry and I. And I’m very grateful that that love still feels there.”
Their memories of their mother are inevitably bittersweet. Last time they talked to their mother at that time when she was in Paris just before few hours of her death. Both princes shared that at the time of their mother’s death they were with their grandmother in some distant place in Scotland. When they talk to their mother on call last time, they were in a rush to play. Pince William said that: “Harry and I were in a desperate rush to say goodbye,” He added that: “If I’d known what was going to happen I wouldn’t have been so blasé.”
Prince William was 15 years old at the time of her mother’s death, and Prince Harry was 12 years old. Princess hopes that new generation remembers their mother as trailblazing celebrity activist rather than a charming girl. Roya Nikah (Journalist) who covered royal family said that: “People now understand the pioneering work she did for things like HIV and AIDS, for homelessness, for the landmine campaign,” she added: “They want to introduce her to a new audience of people who didn’t know her then.”
Prince Williams and Prince Harry now want to follow the way of their mother and want to help injured and mental health affected people. Prince Harry spoke: “I hope she’d be incredibly proud,” He added: “I hope she’d be sitting up there having her little party and looking down and thinking what we have achieved — because it’s a massive team effort — what we have achieved is fantastic.”
Prince Williams and Prince Harry were seen looking their mother personal album and recall their childhood memories.
Both sons not only admired the sheer playfulness of their mother but also shared how much they love their mother as a public activist.
On 24th July on sharp 10 pm, HBO will make the premiere of “Diana, Our Mother: Her Life & Legacy.”
